2020/2021 School Year – Application Open

We are happy to announce that applications are open at Phuket PALS for the following levels:

GED 1 (12/13 years old approx)

GED 2 (13/14 years old approx)

GED 3 (14/15 years old approx)

GED 4 (15/16 years old approx)

Application Process

  • Parents of the applicant must file an application with the Phuket PALS’ Administration,
  • Academic transcripts from the applicant’s previous school year must be given to the Phuket PALS’ administration
  • The school admits students whose academic, personal, social, and emotional needs can be met by the programmes offered
  • Before admitting a student, Phuket PALS will review recent reports/transcripts from current and previous schools, as well as complete a reference check with their current school.
  • Admission to the school and class placement are authorized by the Academic Team and Director.
  • The offer of a place may be unconditional or, for able students, or conditional for students who need to improve their English language skills.
  • Applicants are either approved or approved on probation.  If approved on probation, any serious infraction of school policy could lead to expulsion from Phuket PALS.
  • Phuket PALS admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at school. It does not discriminate on the basis of  race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies and admissions policies.
  • Student who are 16 may only have access to the GED Intensive three term program)

Fees for GED Program


School Fees 2023/2024

  1. Application Fee (paid once – non refundable 10,000 THB)

This covers all costs including interviews, processing school reports; administration and registration; materials relating to school operations.

  1. Bond (paid once – refundable at the end of GED 4 69,000 THB)

This is financial security for the school, and is returned upon withdrawal of a student providing all fees have been cleared. This bond goes some way to ensure that the burden of financial default does not impact in any way upon our service to other customers.  

  1. Placement fee: (paid once – non-refundable 5,000 THB per single student)

This is payable upon acceptance of school offer and before the child enters the school. The fee is not refunded if a family subsequently does not take up offer.

  1. Tuition fees (in Thai Baht): in the table below base on the minimum group of 12 students and maximum group of 25 students

Tuition Fees includes the following

  • All costs relating to the curriculum at Phuket PALS

*Please note tuition fees do not cover additional classes for students identified with special needs*

*Accident and health insurance must be proven by the parents before starting the course or can be arranged by the school at cost price with an additional charge of 2000 THB administration fee.

5. Class Materials: (paid once – non-refundable 5,000 THB per single student)


Additional Charges

  • Examination fees for the full GED test and GED Ready will be the responsibility of the customer.
  • Parents will be invoiced for any extraordinary expenses – including property damaged/destroyed by their children
  • Students who fail to meet the required English level (IELTS 4 approx/pre-intermediate) at registration will be given the option of joining the Sheltered Class. This class enables them to learn the core concepts from the course, but at a more comprehensible English level. The class increases levels of comprehensible input and ensures students reach their potential. Students in the Sheltered Class will take 4 terms instead of 3.
  • Intensive English Course – Fees  Students who are offered a place in the Intensive English Course will be required to pay an additional fee per term. the price below base on the minimum group of 12 students and maximum group of 25 students

Term 1 – 55,000 Baht Term 2 – 55,000 Baht Term 3 – 55,000 Baht, there is no pro rata rate given. The full term fees must be paid. Students who enter the Phuket PALS Intensive English Course late but before half term will be expected to pay the full amount, however entry at half term or after will be charged at 50% of the termly rate.

Payment due date/late payment fees

  • The due date for each terms fees is at least two months before the first day of that term. The main invoices will be sent in advance of the due date.

The payment: Payment due date will be noticed on the invoice 

  • If a payment is not received on the due date, the student will not be admitted to school for the term unless permission has been granted by the director. Reports and certificates may be withheld if fees are not paid.
  • There will be a surcharge of 20% of total amount for late payment
  • Pro-rated fees will be applied to students who enroll at the school during the term, but these will not be less than 50% of the term fee.

**The school reserves the right to adjust fees – but not during the school term**

Bond Refund

If a student finishes GED4 term 3 their 69,000THB bond will be refunded to their parent’s bank account within one month of finishing.

**No fees are refundable if a student fails to complete GED4**

Refund and Transfer Policy

Students who choose to leave the program forfeit all fees paid. No fees will be refunded or transferred into part time teaching hours.

No exceptions will be made to this policy in any circumstances.

Payment of School Fees

Methods of payment

Payment should be made using one of the following methods:

  1. Debit or credit card at school. Only Visa and Mastercard are accepted. Bank charges of 3% have to be paid by customers

  2. Cashier’s cheque//Personal cheque/Company Cheque made payable to ‘Phuket Academic Language School’

Cheque should be send to Phuket PALS two weeks in advance to allow for clearing

  • All company cheques should have the student’s name written clearly on the back
  • A charge of 5000 THB will be made for any dishonoured cheque

  • Please make sure that payments cover all bank charges

Trial Days

Prospective GED Program students are able to participate in a level appropriate class for half a day. A full week’s notice is required and the Phuket PALS’ Academic Team will advise on suitable dates.
